Club speed can be defined as how fast the golf club is traveling when it strikes the ball.
Ball speed is how fast the ball is traveling just after it leaves the face of the club after being struck.
Ball speed will always be faster than club speed due to transference of momentum from the heavier head of the golf club to the lighter, high-energy ball.
Smash factor, in its simplest form is ball speed divided by club speed.
Having this information can assist you massively with understanding how to get better, more accurate yardages with each club.
To improve smash factor it is necessary to make the swing as efficient as possible. Simply increasing club speed may not necessarily lead to an increase in ball speed.
Swing path is the direction that the club head is moving at impact and is measured relative to the target line.
To hit a straight shot, the club path should be zero. The club path is part of what influences the curvature of the shot. It also is part of what determines the ball’s starting direction.
Club Face Angle is the direction the club face is pointed (right or left) at impact. Most golfers refer to this as having an "open" or "closed" club face. The ball will launch very closely to the direction the club face (face angle) is pointed at impact. To hit a straight shot, the face angle should be zero.
Deviation & Spin Axis is detailed information on the initial horizontal angle relative to the target line. The azimuth, combined with side spin, will determine the final ball position down range relative to the target-line.
Spin Axis is the axis that the ball spins on or the measure of the tilt of that axis. A positive Spin Axis means that it is tilted to the right (a fade or slice for right handed golfers). A negative Spin Axis means that is it tilted to the left (a draw or hook).
An Eagles Indoor Golf gapping session is vitally important as it allows you to know your full shot yardages with every club as well as your ½ and ¾ yardages with wedges. This simple yet effective analysis will be the best 60 minutes you could spend on your game this season. Not only will this session significantly improve your game, it will allow you to select clubs with confidence.
